Brian and I made bookshelves from re-purposed dresser drawers:
Now all of Brian’s press and publications are stored in his studio. The drawers came from an abandoned dresser. The deeper drawers are on the right, and they taper in size to the left. The very last drawer over the door on the left is scarcely wider than one magazine holder.
To construct the shelves, we created a wooden brace for the backs of the shelves (undersides of the drawers) and used a z-bar hanging system to attach the drawer-shelves to the wall. They fit perfectly between the tops of the door frames and the sloping ceiling.
